We source many products, such as meat, milk, cheese, and whey, from our partner, Hofladen Augut. The bread for our restaurant an der Schmitten is baked in-house, and we grow a variety of vegetables, preserving them for the winter. Additionally, we produce our own beverages, including teas, juices, essences, and fermented brews like kombucha.

Flos Restaurant at the Schmittenhöhe mountain isn’t a gourmet restaurant in the classic sense, nor is it an inn. Casual fine dining reaches its pinnacle here: delicious food in a rather laid-back atmosphere. This philosophy also extends to the food. The modern, innovative cuisine is perfectly combined with regional produce and outstanding quality, supported by international methods.
A good glass of wine is a must for any meal. Two sommeliers accompany the food selection in Flos Restaurant in Zell am See. Expect magical and harmonious combinations with contrasts between times and regions – an impression that also runs through the diverse menu.


DIY cooking from the garden
OUR NATURAL RESTAURANT CYCLE
While some dishes deviate from convention, the foundation remains down to earth with a clear focus on the region and ecological issues. There is a vegetable and herb garden of 500 m² where lots of fruit and vegetables are grown that eventually make it to your plate. Plenty of preserving for winter is done to ensure freshness. Natural sourdough bread is baked twice a week in the restaurant’s wood stove for the breakfast buffet and dinner in the restaurant, while all deliveries only come from certified organic bakeries. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg:
- Herb patches around the house for tea mixtures, sirups, etc.
- Many more fruit trees spread across the entire property
- Home-made apple juice
- Marmalades made from garden fruit
- Ice cream, sirups, juices and marmalades in the hotel and the restaurant made from house berries (gooseberries, red currants, black currents, strawberries, raspberries)
